Hello everyone. I am especially sleepy today and of course work has taken over my morning workout that usually perks me up. One of those days…So let’s look at some things I am lusting over to perk me up. Looks like I’m craving some neutral basics in my closet these days. I consider navy a neutral don’t you? Because those navy booties are too cute!

I’ve been very good about not shopping this month (it’s going to last through March people so keep your fingers crossed) but that doesn’t stop me from looking. Everything that’s caught my eye has been a neutral because it is really cold and winter-ey so that means neutrals are your go-to. Most of this stuff is on sale so get shopping!!

What are you guys looking at for summer??? There is so much fun stuff out there but I am always a fan of the neutral colors to pair with lots of different things. I’m loving how easily the pale blues will pair with my neutral shoes and how fun bright colors like neon shorts can be worn with a basic white tee and you are good to go. Enjoy!

During the JCrew sale last week, I picked up the Dot Capris that I showed as a sales pick. They arrived over the weekend and I love. I’ll wear these when the weather gets a bit warmer but they can easily be a transition piece with a layered look on top. Here’s a spring look I’ll try to mimic with a mix of similar neutrals and one small pop of color.
Dara Ettinger Alanna Earrings – $84 // JCrew Cafe Dot Capri – $78 (was $98 last week!) // Club Monaco Giselle Sweater – $120 (or $45 in stores) // JCrew Blythe Blouse – $110 // Baublebar Pink Twisted Teardrop Necklace – $42 // Charles Philip Lizzette Loafers – $175 or here // Loeffler Randall Rider Bag – $495 (also love in the mint color with this outfit) // Kate Spade Metro Watch – $175
I’m at a conference this week requiring business formal and my fashionable colleague Jess was wearing a great pair of black cropped pants with a jacket yesterday and looked adorable. While it’s not freezing just yet, the black cropped pants can really be your new go-to bottom piece for work so that you don’t get sick of tights before December. The trick of the cropped pants is the tapering after the knee; don’t have it too tight and make sure the pants hit you at a flattering place…anything too low or too high will just look awkward.
My personal favorite, JCrew’s Cafe Capri come in a ton of colors and fabrics and I love the basic black wool.
JCrew Cafe Capris – $90
My colleague loves her new Gap Skinny Crops. Sadly the plain black isn’t available online but the polka dot would be quite cute with a black crewneck sweater.
Gap Skinny Cropped Pants – $50
Vince Camuto Bailey Cropped Pants – $79
i’m not responsible for the pricing of these pants but Phillip Lim never fails when it comes to perfect pants.
3.1 Phillip Lim Cropped Pencil Trousers – $350
Ever since my parents got me my Mulberry Bayswater tote for my 26th birthday, I’ve used it for just about everything. It is the absolute BEST work bag and has been broken in to such a gorgeous tan leather color. My monogrammed K. Sladesmade clutch carries my beauty essentials and gets thrown from bag to bag depending on the day. Everyday I’m carrying the following necessities:
