As Lauren so wonderfully pointed out yesterday, Shopbop’s Friends and Family began yesterday (and runs through Thursday at midnight). 25% off of most everything with code FAMILY25. If you are a reader of bloggers, you know this is quite the event since pretty much everyone has posted their picks. My favorites are below but you know what, go crazy.
As a sidenote, two other stellar F&F’s are going on. Saks also has 25% off with code FRNFAM through Monday (my favorite? This perfect Rebecca Taylor cocktail dress for a wedding or holiday party this season). My top jewelry site BaubleBar has 25% off through tomorrow night with code FRIENDS25 and there are some amazing deals to be had. I’m loving this statement necklace, these mint green stunner earrings, another statement necklace (or this more subtle one too) and of course a ton of different types of 360 studs.
Clockwise from top left: Loeffler Randall Marita Boot – $695 // Vince Haircalf Slip on Sneakers – $229 // Kate Spade Sapphire Earrings – $48 // Rails Carmen Button Down (in lots of great plaids) – $96 (was $128) // L.K. Bennett Alma Cutout Sandals – $395 // Linea Pelle Hip Belt (my favorite brand for A+ belts with jeans) – $120 // Tibi Simona Jacquard Dress – $395 // Julie & Co Apres Soiree Necklace – $80 // Vince Hooded Coat (this is just so gorge it’s worth the hefty price tag) – $695 // Cooper & Ella Susan Double V Blouse – $125 // Monserat De Lucca Clutch – $129
A while back my friend Lindsay and I had a convo about ear cuffs. Another reader requested the same convo so I felt it was due for a post. Ear cuffs are definitely a statement accessory and while I’m always supportive of a statement, these are definitely not for the faint of heart. They’re growing on me though and I was asked to find a cuff that isn’t going to break the bank. Obviously my first stop was Baublebar and I found this great ear cuff for $32. I mean what a great way to try a trend and keep your spending in check. Dannijo (the queen sisters of cool) of course have a gorgeous version of this trend and I’m loving that too. Ugh so many ear cuffs, so little time.
Splurge: Dannijo Gwendolyn Ear Cuff – $220
Steal: Baublebar Winged Crystal Ear Cuff – $32
Two of my favorite companies have come together and created a collection and I’m obsessed. BaubleBar has created another collection for a retailer and I”m so glad they chose Nordstrom! I love how the pieces are under $70 and I’m loving all of the fun spring colors. Get yourself a statement necklace or just some fun bright studs to dress up your work wardrobe. A few of the pieces have sold out but for now, my favorites are below.
Clockwise from top left: Multistrand Star Pendant – $28 // Embellished collar necklace in mint – $46 // Stone Earrings (come in tons of colors) – $24 // Phillips Skinny Cuff (gold or silver) – $28 // Pave Multistrand Necklace (I love this in white or mint) – $68 // Peacock Fan Earrings (pretty fun bold colors) – $28 // Pave Link Bracelet (shown here in turquoise and hot pink but comes in a bunch of fun spring colors) – $48 // Frontal necklace in white – $48
Two of our favorite go-to spots have combined – BaubleBar has designed a super pretty line for Anthropologie with lots of tortoise pieces to choose from. I love the combo of tortoise shell with the sparkles as it takes a statement piece and tones it down a bit more to give you all some work appropriate or party appropriate pieces.
I love the combo of the blue + tortoise in this piece.
Galapagos Necklace – $68
Jornado Drops – $48
Seven Pearls Bangle – $38
This isn’t the greatest example of lusting for less however, I did recently return this garland necklace to JCrew after seeing the BaubleBar version. Let me explain why. I really wanted a necklace to wear on top of a buttoned up collared shirt. I wanted the bling part to show off at the bottom of the collar to add some sparkle. I love the JCrew version of these perfect garlands but what I love about the BaubleBar piece is the adjustable length for different types of tops and dresses (and the fact that it’s 1/3 the price). It will poke out enough to give me the bling I’ve been wanting and it won’t choke me on top of that (this is an issue with layering sometimes, am I wrong?).
Splurge: JCrew Crystal Floral Garland Necklace – $90 (was $115)
Steal: BaubleBar Crystal Dahlia Strand – $32
Baublebar launched a collection a little while ago that I just had to feature because it is so cute. Samantha Faye and her fun and whimsical designs have made it to the BB storefront and I am just loving these little pendants. The pineapple is just too cute or maybe I should add another lobster to my collection!
Samantha Faye for BaubleBar – $54 – $85
I saw this JCrew Swoop Top (with the adorable slightly cut out back) and I thought how easily it could pair with a cute daytime outfit for a Saturday but also be a great work top. Mixing colors is one of my favorite things to do and this could easily work with a popsicle day outfit. For this work to weekend, I wanted to feature a shorts-suit for the office. While this wouldn’t fly where I work, it definitely could be worn in a cool place that allows jeans or something fun like that. I love the idea of the black blazer with the Milly elephant shorts (which are long enough to be appropriate) and a pop of color with the top.
JCrew Swoop Top – $88 (was $110)
Work: Topshop Placket Detail Jacket – $95 // BaubleBar Blanc Vessel Collar – $28 // Alice & Olivia Hilarie d’Orsay Flat – $240 //Linea Pelle Maya Hip Belt – $115 // Banana Republic Milly Elephant Print Shorts – $55 // Sam Edelman Reagan Pump – $85
Weekend: Alice & Olivia Jo High Waisted Skirt – $156 (was $258) // Loren Hope Corrin bracelet – $65 // Tory Burch Emmy Wedge Sandal – $175 (was $250) //Blue Marquis Studs – $18 // Ciela Bangle – $120 // Jack Rogers Georgica Jelly Flat – $68 (maybe these ones won’t kill your feet)
All of us can’t help but reminisce when we see ballerina pink to the days of leotards, tights and tutus. This color has now become one of my absolute favorites and I love the idea of it as a spring neutral for 2013. Pairing it with a charcoal gray, black or even a green or blue would look perfect. I can’t wait for this crappy weather to turn around!
JCrew Cafe Capri in Dusty Bouquet – $70 //Rebecca Minkoff Lissa Stud Pouch – $95 // Baublebar Rose Otto Strand – $28 // Madewell Something Else Laser Star Skirt – $108 (also love the idea of the tank paired with black cropped skinnies and pumps) // Madewell Mackenzie Shirred Dress (my favorite in this post) – $158 (or on sale here with certain sizes) // Scalloped iphone case – $28 // Polished Plane Earrings – $32 // Marie Turner Lunch Clutch – $220 // JCrew Contessa Snakeskin Bow Pump (so classic and feminine) – $228 // Zoya Nailpolish in Stephanie – $8 // Essie Nailpolish in ballet slipper (obviously) – $8 // Topshop Mine Gem Stud Pointed Shoes – $64
During the JCrew sale last week, I picked up the Dot Capris that I showed as a sales pick. They arrived over the weekend and I love. I’ll wear these when the weather gets a bit warmer but they can easily be a transition piece with a layered look on top. Here’s a spring look I’ll try to mimic with a mix of similar neutrals and one small pop of color.
Dara Ettinger Alanna Earrings – $84 // JCrew Cafe Dot Capri – $78 (was $98 last week!) // Club Monaco Giselle Sweater – $120 (or $45 in stores) // JCrew Blythe Blouse – $110 // Baublebar Pink Twisted Teardrop Necklace – $42 // Charles Philip Lizzette Loafers – $175 or here // Loeffler Randall Rider Bag – $495 (also love in the mint color with this outfit) // Kate Spade Metro Watch – $175
This Sunday, my bff Jen and I ventured out in the snowy cold weather to the BaubleBar Pop Up Shop in NYC. Upon entering, you immediately get to pick up a free Bauble without spending a dime so really, it’s worth the visit. The space is decorated in bright pinks and blues and there is quite a selection to go through. I wound up getting some stretchy colorful bangles to stack as I couldn’t resist!
Our favorite part was the personalized section. All of their personalized pieces (monogram necklaces, name bracelets/necklaces, acryllic everything) were out and the colors of all the different acrylics were fun to sort through.
Jen did some modeling with her new free Bauble (a nude leather disc with a sparkle line going down the middle) that she stacked with the round disc necklaces she already happened to be wearing.
Jen has really great and perfect hair so I just took this picture to show everyone how jealous I am (and have been since I was about 5).
