Hello Monday…ugh. What a Sunday, right? Fashion Week, US Open finals AND first NFL Sunday? It was a good one. Thank you, sports. I was perusing the Loeffler Randall fall collection this weekend and just wanted to share my favorites right now since many of these pieces are so interesting and unique. Owning any one of the pieces below would step up my fall fashion game 100%.
Top Row: Nicola Knot D’Orsay Pump – $325 // Industry Bucket Bag (fringe + bucket bag = 100) – $395 // Ambra Lace Up Flat (glad this trend is sticking around) – $295 // Mazzy Slip On Sneaker – $325
Bottom Row: Junior Lock Clutch (this combo of silver + calf hair is unreal) – $375 // Pari Fringe Pump ( can’t have enough of these Paris!) – $395 // Shearling Bomber (or this jacket if you want to be a bit more subtle) – $1295 // Jolie Kitten Heel – $350
I love a leather jacket. My friend/PP Superfan Abby asked for some leather jacket advice and here are my thoughts: if you see one you love that is amazing and classic (i.e. drapey, waterfall, gorge color) you should buy it. However, if there is something about it that seems a bit trendy, find one for less. That’s how I feel about this amazing VEDA jacket. I love the statement collar but will I really wear this one year in and year out? I’m not sure so I am finding one for less. Cusp has their own line these days that is stellar. I love their faux leather jacket (also lined so it will actually be warm) and I really think this one is well worth the price. I love how cute it would be over a fun dress on a Saturday night or simply paired with a t shirt and jeans.
Splurge: Veda Max Classic Jacket – $895
Steal: Cusp by Neiman Marcus Faux Leather Jacket – $128
I own a lot of tweed blazers. My reason being that they take me to work and they take me to play. Not much gets me to both in the formal setting but when I saw this Joie cardi/blazer combo (blazigan? cardiger?) I thought it had to be added to my collection. My very stylish colleague was wearing this Renvy jacket yesterday and when I saw it on Gilt, this was a no-brainer savings. The tweed combined with the leather accents is gorgeous! Loving both of these and how easy they pair with an all black outfit.
Splurge: Joie Jacolyn B Tweed Jacket- $398
Steal: Renvy French Terry Leather Trim Blazer – $120
Normally PP product spotlights are reserved for beauty products but this week I found an awesome moto jacket at a really reasonable price for the winter months. The Gap’s wool moto jacket in bright pink is seriously awesome with a pair of dark jeans and boots.
I love this jacket. I love how you can use it as your going out jacket to a bar and not have to worry about putting it down and some floozy girl stealing it. I think the bright pink and cobalt blue versions are fun in all weather but if you’re looking for a more neutral color you can get it in heather gray or a dark navy and wear everyday. I love this piece. Wait for The Gap to have one of their guaranteed 40% off weeks and you’ll get yourself a steal.
Gap Wool Moto Jacket (gray/navy or pink/blue) – $128
I am obsessed with this Milly jacket. I love the boucle, I love the leather trim, I love everything about it. It will be perfect for going out and going to work with a black shift dress. I’m getting pretty excited about all of the leather that is out there this season because so many pieces are mixing fabrics taking the harshness of black leather down a notch. What I don’t love about this jacket is the $500 price tag but in comes my go-to Nordstroms with a great alternative. Halogen’s boucle knit jacket is under $100 and has some cute leather trim accentuating the bomber style. Love them both!
Splurge: Milly Harper Zipper Jacket – $495
Steal: Halogen Boucle Knit Bomber – $98
We have raved on and on about how much we love our jean jackets (or vests in Lauren’s case) but I just wanted to dedicate a post to the #1 thing I put in a weekend bag wherever I am going. This past weekend, I wore one every night in Jackson Hole to keep me warm in the chillier mountain evenings (and I looked right at home in western wear). At the beach, I throw one of these on in the super air conditioned restaurants over a cotton dress or white skinnies and call it a night. While we absolutely love the pricier versions of these classics, there is no reason to spend that cash if you don’t want to. We both own the Levi’s Trucker Jacket and adore. The Gap one is equally as cute. Love!
Splurge: Rag & Bone Denim Jacket – $253 // Current/Elliott Snap Jacket – $273
Steal: Levi’s Trucker Jacket (also in lighter or light denim) – $78 // Gap 1969 Denim Jacket – $56
I have loved this Rebecca Taylor Hawaii print for a while whether it be on a dress, pants, in white…it’s just really pretty. I think it’s awesome how she incorporated the summery dark floral print with hints of black dressing up the blazer (and making it SO easy to pair with your lbds and black skinnies!). But the price was always a big pill to swallow. In comes Asos with a blazer consisting of an equally chic print and cut. At $100, this is a lot more affordable and doesn’t sacrifice anything!
Splurge: Rebecca Taylor Hawaii Zip Jacket – $495 (on sale for $300)
Steal: Asos A Wear Digital Floral Blazer – $101
I firmly believe in having a stellar blazer/jacket collection because nothing goes better with jeans, colored skinnies, shift dresses for work…just about everything. I’ve loved the combination of the tweed fabric with leather accents by Iro for quite some time but the price is just way too much. In comes the blazer I saw at Zara this past weekend and it is just awesome. The quality is excellent (especially for the pricepoint), the style of the jacket is super chic and the summer ikat print is A+. I’d love this with a white pair of jeans or over a white shift for work.
Splurge: IRO Blaze Ikat Leather Detail Jacket – $960 (ABSURD)
Steal: Zara Jacquard Pattern Zip Jacket – $89.90
Inspired by my Blue Monday last week and my wishlisted blue tweed IRO blazer, I am getting pretty excited for some spring tweed coming up. So far, these are my favorite pieces to get me into one of my favorite looks, ladylike tweed.
I love the idea of this jacket. I love the light color combined with the zipper and the amazing versatility of the cut. I’d wear this to work over a LBD or with jeans for a night out. LOVE THIS. It also comes in adorable pink or navy.
Joie Collis Tweed Jacket – $298
I love the texture and the color of this spring skirt oh and the price point is pretty great too.
Halogen Textured Pencil Skirt – $69
Joie Daydreaming Tweed Loafer – $175
We loved the winter black version of this and we are loving the spring colors as well. The navy here would be great with white or black skinny pants but the salmon and white combo for spring is great as well.
Rebecca Taylor Tweed Peplum Top – $350
Years ago I owned a tartan plaid pleated skirt (with matching pointy toe flats) from JCrew and I sort of wish I still owned it. I just love this dark green and navy combo and I’m so happy to see it back this season in a McQ Alexander McQueen blazer that I keep seeing everywhere (not to mention the adorable dress version or the pants that would look just stunning with a plain navy or ivory turtleneck). I love pairing this with winter white pants or a dress for work. The leather skinny pants in this photo are also a pretty awesome combination. The only problem with this blazer is it’s price tag of $1,000. But that’s a legit problem so here are a few lower priced replacements to get that prep school look (Club Monaco offers a sick pair of these pants if you prefer Scottish bottoms).
Capulet Collegiate Plaid Blazer – $224
Olivia Moon Plaid Blazer – $88
Gap Plaid Academy Blazer – $98
