When it comes to casual clothes, I am pretty terrible at wearing pants. I tend to stay away from jeans. Period. Like I never wear them. But in my closet I have about six pairs that just sit there being like, “Oh hey girl, I look so great with a basic tee”. Over the weekend I finally fit into a pair from last summer and I forgot how EASY jeans are. My favorites? JCrew because they’re pretty much always 25% off and you can get a great pair for under $150. Even better? Bring an old pair of jeans to JCrew between now and 9/30 and get $20 towards your denim purchase!!
Toothpick Jean in Black (my fav style) – $115
Boyfriend Jean in Abbott Wash (are these not the most perfect bf jeans???) – $128
Reid Cone Denim Jean in Brewster – $125
Every few months or so, JCrew really steps it up with it’s jewelry collection. This month is no exception. I am loving a few sparkly pieces and some are the kinds of statement pieces that you are constantly looking down at throughout your day and being like, “Oh heeeey I have a sparkly sparrow on my wrist and it’s so pretty”. Go buy yourself some sparkle, ladies.

I spent the weekend in sunny Florida and it was such an amazing break from the brutal Northeast winter!!! Running outside, flip flops, palm trees everywhere…it really is such a great weekend getaway. I’m juice cleansing and no longer in Florida so what a crappy Monday, right?! Shopping with my mom definitely put my winter clothes on the backburner and my love for spring has officially sprung. We saw some really cute things including some of the below. I just can’t wait for light neutral shoes and summer dresses. Keeping my fingers crossed that this week’s latest polar plunge is the last!
Clockwise from top left: JCrew Downtown Field Jacket – $150 // Sundry Sweatpants (I am not exactly a proponent of sweatpants but this brand makes ones that are actually cute) -$100 // Lilly Pulitzer Robyn Dress – $98 // CWonder Honeycomb Heel – $150 // JCrew Factory Textured Dot Top (I am pairing mine with navy skinnies for now and white shorts for later) – $65 // Navajo Print Scarf – $40 // Kate Spade Carlisle Street Cosmetics Case – $170 // Ray-Ban Ice Pop Wayfarers (I borrowed these in pink from my mom all weekend and they were way cooler than anything I own) – $160 // Sole Society Marni Sandal – $60 // JCrew Mint Spike Bracelet – $75 // Asos Shift Dress with Scallop Collar (adore) – $50
I’m loving jewel tones this week, especially navy and that deep cerulean blue that just pops. I love pairing these greens/aquas/blues with nudes/golds/pinks because it really makes them pop. Get me those Tory Burch studded flats – they’d look so perfect with jeans or black/navy pants. I love bringing jewel tones into the home through the agate coasters that look pretty gorgeous. A baby pink sweater with a ruffle at the bottom? ADORABLE.
Clockwise from top left: Atlantic Pacific for BaubleBar Mohawk Collar – $42 // Clu Ruffled Hem Sweater – $200 // Midi Band Trio – $34 // Petite Infinity Band – $26 // JCrew Crinkle Boy Shirt in Black Watch Plaid – $90 // Tory Burch Crystal Chelsea Flat – $275 // RABLABS Pedra Coasters – $68 // CWonder Quilted Barn Jacket – $128 // Anthropologie Perager Pom Scarf – $78 // JCrew Wrap Skirt (so sleek) – $148 // Sole Society Tanya Flat (also love the nude color) – $50
This isn’t the greatest example of lusting for less however, I did recently return this garland necklace to JCrew after seeing the BaubleBar version. Let me explain why. I really wanted a necklace to wear on top of a buttoned up collared shirt. I wanted the bling part to show off at the bottom of the collar to add some sparkle. I love the JCrew version of these perfect garlands but what I love about the BaubleBar piece is the adjustable length for different types of tops and dresses (and the fact that it’s 1/3 the price). It will poke out enough to give me the bling I’ve been wanting and it won’t choke me on top of that (this is an issue with layering sometimes, am I wrong?).
Splurge: JCrew Crystal Floral Garland Necklace – $90 (was $115)
Steal: BaubleBar Crystal Dahlia Strand – $32
It’s almost the weekend, everyone so let’s celebrate by shopping a sale. 25% off of JCrew right now (through Monday at midnight) with $150 or more. Use code FALLSTYLE. As I know everyone is getting ready for fall, there are some great items to consider for your collections. I love the idea of this oversized pocket sweater with a pair of leggings and flats. Yes, I know these are summer sandals, but a girl on the subway was wearing them and I was quite envious. This clutch is just a classic piece for a great price and I can’t get enough of these jeans!!
Quilted Invitation Clutch (this comes with a pretty gold chain to make it shoulder style too!) – $109 (was $145) // Scalloped Cut Out Silk Top (I love the emerald and the perfect navy) – $83 (was $110) // Scalloped Suede Ballet Flats – $118 (was $158) // Vintage Pajama Set (PP loves PJs) – $74 (was $98) // Merino Leather Pocket Sweater (love in charcoal gray/brown as well) – $118 (was $158) // Pavia Sandals – $98 // Toothpick Jean in Distressed (first pair of jeans that I’ve purchased in five years. Lots of things have my eye right now…most pieces are transitional ones that I can wear today or in a month depending on the color combos but some are just pretty things I simply just want. I am loving these Loeffler flats; they’d look so perfect with a pair of cropped black pants. These Kate Spade earrings are just gorgeous and so unique. My go-to’s for work are always my sheath dresses and this boucle + leather combo is awesome.
Rebecca Taylor Boucle Sheath (I am dying for this to go on sale…DYING) – $475 // Kate Spade Stepping Stones Earrings – $98 // JCrew Factory Intarsia Sweater – $58 //Clu Jersey and Point D’Esprit Cardigan (this reminds me of Alicia Silverstone in Clueless and I love) – $235 // Zara Jacquard Jacket with zips (so cool over dresses or skinnies) – $120 // Fornash Park Avenue Necklace (this is just perfection) – $120 // Loeffler Randall Erika Pointed Toe Flats – $250 //Gap Slim Cropped Pants – $55

30% off of everything at JCrew right now (and pretty much this entire spring) with the code “THEBEST” so go get some fun summer brights. I saw this JCrew Swoop Top (with the adorable slightly cut out back) and I thought how easily it could pair with a cute daytime outfit for a Saturday but also be a great work top. Mixing colors is one of my favorite things to do and this could easily work with a popsicle day outfit. For this work to weekend, I wanted to feature a shorts-suit for the office. While this wouldn’t fly where I work, it definitely could be worn in a cool place that allows jeans or something fun like that. I love the idea of the black blazer with the Milly elephant shorts (which are long enough to be appropriate) and a pop of color with the top.
