As of 10:29PM last night, we are officially in Fall! While fall means deeper hues, thicker fabrics and amazing coats, overall, September is a tough month for clothes. If I wear a dress to work, I’m freezing. If I wear pants, I’m hot. All in all, it’s pretty much a confused month. What’s on my wish list lately has reflected this crazy month and it’s totally all over the place.

I came across these Hudson skinny jeans the other day and thought how cute (and easy) would they be with a perfect black tee or just a black tank? It lead to me some more browsing and I got into a polka dot kick. Nothing easier than throwing on one item with polka dots on them with solids the rest of the way to make an outfit complete.

It’s so rainy and a bit cold today so I definitely have my mind on beach time. I am loving all of the bright stuff below and there is one item here that I think I need asap – a white denim jacket. Is it too 80’s? I am thinking no. What do you guys think? I love the idea of it with navy dresses for spring. I’m also loving my fav color in Tkees and that adorable crab beach bag. So much fun. Go grab that Shoshanna for every rehearsal dinner you have. It’s expensive but you’ll rock that all summer (and fall) long!!

Hellooooo everybody. Happy Tuesday. I’ve been MIA with the main reason being that I got a new laptop and it’s taken me three solid days to actually figure out how to do anything on it – I AM OLD. The one thing I figured out immediately, online shopping. Duh. There is so much fun summer stuff out there – it’s going to be tough to have a shopping free May but I’m going to do it. in the meantime, here is what I’ve been eyeing!

Ladies, my apologies for the delayed publishing today. It’s been a crazy day at work (i.e. my screen has been projected all day so going on PP might not be so appreciated by some of the men I work with). Today I’ve been lusting over some bright colors and fun items. Whenever work is annoying, I always veer towards the play clothes like those adorable JCrew shorts and that amazing striped top for a great price. Loving this warmer weather!

What a gorgeous weekend we had, right??? It really got me in the mood for some spring florals! I spent the weekend running a ton of errands which included a lot of returns and I couldn’t get enough of the pastels in the stores. The pinks! The blues! I loved it all. It was very hard just returning and not spending. Below are some of my favorites; a lot of Easter options, great accessories, and reasons for pink to become the new black. Happy Monday!
Left Column: Prada Bow Wallet (it’s been around for a while but my love for it still persists) – $550 // Modcloth Lakeshore Dress – $55 // Kate Spade Riviera Stone Necklace – $180
Middle Column: BaubleBar Glass Coin Earrings – $44 // Tory Burch Savannah Wedge Sandal (these are just so delicate in A+ spring colors) – $250 // Zara Coat With Zips – $159
Right Column: Rebecca Taylor Dream Flower Dress – $375 // Kate Spade Iberis Wedges (dying for these to go on sale and I love the colors they come in!) – $328 // Tory Burch Robinson Makeup Pouch – $95
Two of my favorite companies have come together and created a collection and I’m obsessed. BaubleBar has created another collection for a retailer and I”m so glad they chose Nordstrom! I love how the pieces are under $70 and I’m loving all of the fun spring colors. Get yourself a statement necklace or just some fun bright studs to dress up your work wardrobe. A few of the pieces have sold out but for now, my favorites are below.

As Whitney already pointed out, it is tough to look chic while battling the wintertime elements.

These are my #1 pick for winter footwear. Even though they have a wedge, I imagine they are easy to walk around in – and when you don’t feel like putting on a pair of pumps for a night out, you can just wear these.

Whitney and I both have add Down coats – they’re the warmest that we’ve found… and while puffy coats aren’t typically that flattering, the styling on these is still trim and shapely.

For a look thats more chic, less practical – I am a sucker for the “car coat” – I have a red one that looks similar to this By Malene Birger and I wear it frequently when I am dressing up on the weekends.
This would work best with a pair of ladylike leather gloves, black leather boots, and this fierce fur headband (which can also double as a collar accent on this coat or another!)
PS I have no idea why this model looks so creepy
Salut! and sorry for my radio silence – I have been all over the globe traveling and most recently have arrived in Paris… where I promptly (and accidentally) locked my laptop in a safe and couldn’t get it out.
Paris has obviously been divine. My favorite sights have been les jardins des tuileries and the incredible architecture that defines the city.

Obviously the shopping has been insane. Aside from the standard French storefronts – Chloe, Celine, Chanel, Hermes, Maje, Sandro – we have been obsessing over Claudie Pierlot & Gerard Darel. These brands do have a couple of stores in the states – but they are tough to find. I think you’ll see Claudie Pierlot cropping up a bit more in the US, as they are part of the the killer Maje/Sandro duo.
Katelyn and I have both purchased a couple of jackets from each of the above mentioned stores. Since my new job starts in a month I have focused on blazers that I can wear to the office and then pair with (my favorite) shorts and silk pants for going out on the weekends. The structure and quality of the jackets here is unparalleled in the US.
Generally speaking, the French footwear is nothing to drool over. However, Katelyn and I both found a sick pair of lace up, cut-out booties at Gerard Darel (above) and had to have them.
I am pretty confident that this fall is all about minimalism, and as such, have been taking notes from the French who have mastered this style. My fall shopping thus far has focused on chic silk pants, structured tops, leather accents, and loads of mixing neutral colors – white, black, & tan. The key to pulling this look is finding pieces that fit you perfectly… and if they don’t – making sure they are altered to fit you perfectly. Think about menswear – the men who look the best are the ones who take simple, classic pieces and have them tailored to fit their bodies at every crease, seam, and cuff. Investing in a few staple pieces for the fall will get you a long way – try to find silk trousers, and interesting shirts (see above) that you can mix and match – this will lend a ton of outfit options for day and night without feeling like you are buying an entirely new closet. The great thing about minimalist style is that the pieces you buy this season can be mixed in over years to come when styles change because they are usually basic with a twist. I will post some more ideas on this in the weeks to come!
We have raved on and on about how much we love our jean jackets (or vests in Lauren’s case) but I just wanted to dedicate a post to the #1 thing I put in a weekend bag wherever I am going. This past weekend, I wore one every night in Jackson Hole to keep me warm in the chillier mountain evenings (and I looked right at home in western wear). At the beach, I throw one of these on in the super air conditioned restaurants over a cotton dress or white skinnies and call it a night. While we absolutely love the pricier versions of these classics, there is no reason to spend that cash if you don’t want to. We both own the Levi’s Trucker Jacket and adore. The Gap one is equally as cute. Love!
Splurge: Rag & Bone Denim Jacket – $253 // Current/Elliott Snap Jacket – $273
Steal: Levi’s Trucker Jacket (also in lighter or light denim) – $78 // Gap 1969 Denim Jacket – $56
