Sale Time – Winter Coats

23 Feb

By Whitney

I needed a new black wool winter coat this year and instead of buying one when everything came out in October/November, I held off and now I’m glad I did.  First off, it narrowed down that I want to find one with a fur collar.  Second, everything is now on  sale (except the one I want while on sale isn’t in my size, ugh).  It’s also really cold out so it’s not like you are buying this thing and not wearing it for six months.  You’ll wear it tomorrow.

Things that are hard for me these days include getting up early to go to the gym when it is snowing/icing like crazy AND creating lust lists when I am not shopping.  Do you guys believe it?  I’ve bought one blazer since Christmas and that is the only purchase I’ve made in 2015.  Trying to stay strong!!!  Meanwhile, my eyes are lusting over the below.  Sigh.

Shopbop F&F – Whitney’s Picks

15 Oct

By Whitney

As Lauren so wonderfully pointed out yesterday, Shopbop’s Friends and Family began yesterday (and runs through Thursday at midnight).  25% off of most everything with code FAMILY25.  If you are a reader of bloggers, you know this is quite the event since pretty much everyone has posted their picks.  My favorites are below but you know what, go crazy.

As a sidenote, two other stellar F&F’s are going on.  Saks also has 25% off with code FRNFAM through Monday  (my favorite?  This perfect Rebecca Taylor cocktail dress for a wedding or holiday party this season).  My top jewelry site BaubleBar has 25% off through tomorrow night with code FRIENDS25 and there are some amazing deals to be had.  I’m loving this statement necklace, these mint green stunner earrings, another statement necklace (or this more subtle one too) and of course a ton of different types of 360 studs.

Shopbop F&F – 25% Off

13 Oct

by Lauren

It’s our favorite time of year!! Shopbop Friends & Family starts today – enjoy 25% off with the code FAMILY25!  Usually I get totally overwhelmed by this exciting news and balk and don’t order anything I end up keeping or I just freeze altogether and can’t make decisions.  This year, I am prepared.  Here are a few of the things I have been eyeing:

DKNY Cape Dress

If you have room for a little extra drama in your life, buy this.

Sneakers, Cotu

It is impossibly hard to find casual, comfortable shoes for the winter – so a fresh pair of sneakers is high on my list for running errands and commuting to work.

Vince lace overlay blouse

Whenever I can find a pretty, long-sleeved, yet versatile top – I jump on it.  This one has just the right amount of detail to make it fun for a night out.

Susanna Monaco Shift Dress

There is something so simplistically elegant about this – I think this dress would prove to be quite versatile as the seasons change.  It is great for date night, a work event – and will look cute with tights when the weather changes.  (Also available in this spicy blue version).

Mara Hoffman beaded dress

I think this dress is quite chic.  I also think it would look awesome with a thin, tight turtleneck layered underneath.

BCBG Peplum Skirt

How great is this for a work to happy hour transition?  I would probably order this one size up to make it office appropriate.

Similarly speaking, I LOVE this Elizabeth and James Pencil Skirt

(wear it with a plain blouse (option 2) or a fitted turtleneck)

Equipment Aubrey Dress

There is only one left!  And I suspect it will be gone momentarily, but I may have to comb the internet for this little minx.  (Found it!)

Jonathan Adler Tic, Tac, Toe

Because who doesn’t love a friendly game?

By the way, F&F is a great time to stock up on basics — if you don’t have the following, I suggest you seriously consider giving them a try!

1. Theory Sartorial Blouse (perfect for work & play)
2.  Vince Turtleneck (great for layering)
3. Paul & Joe Sister Sweater (chunky knits are always a great idea)
4.  Loeffler Randall Tamsin Pumps (work place must)
5.  Milly sweater dress  (a perennial favorite)
6.  Anything Equipment

F&F (well it’s about time)

At long last we are beginning to see a wave of Friends & Family specials… both DVF and Rebecca Taylor are running 25% off until Sunday.  From Rebecca Taylor, I am really loving the blush pink items and obviously her spring tweed.  I have to say though, my last few experiences with RT have been kinda disappointing.  The last 3 items I’ve bought from RT have ripped within the first hour.  Anyone else??  Nevertheless the pinks are pretty… as for DVF, she rarely disappoints me.  Her feather leopard print is to die for (I know it doesn’t look incredible in the photos, but the print is a flattering hue for all skin types – give it a try).

Sleeveless Net Top

Tweed Dress

Feather Leopard Shirt Dress (also available in a wrap)

I think this animal print sweater/tee (on sale!) would be so cute with shorts this summer

Sheath Dress

This dress may not look like much, but it is a tried and trusted DVF look.  I think this is great for a work to evening transition – the fabric is the best part.  It’s made of a crisp, slightly elastic, poplin – basically my favorite fabric on earth.

Tuckernuck Winter Sale

15 Jan

By Whitney

It really is sale season.  The challenge of not buying anything is INTENSE.  Every online shop seems to have a great sale going on and this includes a PP favorite, Tuckernuck.   Everything on their winter sale is 20% off with the code “WINTER” so these are some great buys.  A few great buys are below but I also love this legit Barbour winter sweater, a Devon Baer tunic in blackwatch, our favorite brand of pajamas and some great preppy tassel loafers.cortland park cashmere

Obsessed with the color (and it comes in black) with the perfect pearl detailing at the shoulder.

Cortland Park Cashmere Sweater – $136 (was $242)

Charles Phillip Lizette slippers

Charles Philip Lizette Smoking Slippers – $108 (were $180)

Barbour Polarquilt

Barbour Polarquilt Jacket – $161 (was $270)

STS Goldenrod

Sail to Sable Goldenrod Tunic (I love this and was so tempted to get it for my mom for her bday…ugh regrets) – $112 (was $198)

Tory Burch Shoe Sale

14 Jan

By Whitney

The other day I returned my last purchase made in December at Tory Burch (budgeting is so fun!!)  and I saw the most amazing pumps for winter.  (If you follow me on Instagram @WhitneyCayla you can see the coolest pair).  The sale that Tory Burch had going on was pretty amazing and the shoe section was top notch.  I fell in love with lots of pairs but I RESISTED.  So many great ones are online too so go check it out!

TB Shoe Sale

Top Row:  Kayden Bootie – $270 (were $450) // Phoenix Pump (love the gray but also the dusty rose and the black!) – $275 (were $375) // Carissa Pump – $228 (were $325)

Bottom Row:  Patent Leather Eddie Flat – $158 (were $225) // Carissa Bow Smoking Slipper – $200 (were $285) // Crystal Chelsea Flats (a fav flat this winter) – $192 (were $275)

Besides shoes, I am absolutely obsessed with this green Robinson tote.  How gorgeous is that emerald????

A Loeffler moment…

26 Nov

by Lauren

No surprise, Loeffler Randall is just annihilating the footwear scene right now.  I’d say there are easily 3-4 pairs of shoes that top my wishlist at the moment.  I’m eyeing…

Charlotte Sandal

Has anyone seen a more elegant evening shoe lately?  I haven’t.  This is honest perfection.

Tilda Scallop

Tilda Pump

This pump has scalloped edges and snakeskin.  It defines sexy, chic, and feminine.

Tamsin Studded

Studded Tamsin

If you don’t own a pair of the LR Tamsin pumps yet, you really need to ask yourself what you are thinking.  Okay so my mom actually discovered these and I owe it all to her but the Tamsin pump is bar-none, the BEST work shoe out there.  The heel height is perfect – I can walk for miles in these puppies and the silhouette around your foot is ultra flattering.  Oh, the toe is also the perfect degree of “pointy-ness” –  we both have the plain black, but I want to add this studded pair *on sale* to my collection because they double as a great “going out” shoe – no sore feet on Saturday night!

Lou Pointed Flat

Also on sale!  Normally, I’m not a huge metallic shoe fan…but something about these little guys is fun and different.  As Whitney pointed out – how great would these look with a pair of skinny jeans?  Add a chunky sweater?  You’re ready for Sunday brunch.

Polo Sale

7 Nov

by Lauren

The Ralph Lauren sale is on – and let me tell you – there are some insane deals both online and in the stores. I would definitely suggest checking it out! Here are a few of my favorites.

Shearling Hooded Vest

I’ve been keeping my eye out for a sporty vest for this winter – and I love the shearling trim on this hood, obviously.

Cargo Pants

Skinny Cargo Pant

We already know that I am into the cargo pant trend right now – I tried these on in the store, and they fit phenomenally well. They have luxe leather accents. These are A+.

Cozy sweater

Alpaca & Silk Turtleneck

Cozy sweaters are underrated. You cannot own too many. I love the color of and detail on this one. I also think this one is fabulous as is this belted cardigan.

Tartan Coat

This coat is everything.
