Happy Valentine’s Day Readers!!! We love you.
First things first, Tibi has a great sale going on today. Check out some of their cute items (including some great windowpanes)!
Second, everything at JCrew Factory is 30% off with the code “XOFACTORY”. Loving the factory version of my heart button down that I have and while this isn’t Valentine’s day hued, I ordered this polka dot skirt and am obsessed.
Piperlime has 20% off of everything today. Just enter “XOXO” at checkout. Here are my favorites in Valentine’s hues!
Pim & Larkin Ponte Bow Dress – $71
Equipment Blouse – $116 (great price for Equipment!)
MM Couture Coco Jacket – $79 (I loooove this!)
I must confess, windowpane plaid might be one of the few “menswear” trends that I am into. I don’t think I can walk around with pants that are wide or put a tie on or something masculine like that. What I can do is get into menswear prints that have gone feminine like this one. All of these are great transition pieces for when you never know what to wear when winter is sort of over and spring is sort of here.
On the lefthand side we have the pricier pieces. JCrew’s Featherweight Cashmere Cardigan ($268) in navy sky or the orchid purple pink is something I hope will last until they have a sale. Tibi came out with such cute items with windowpane checks and these two are my favorite. The pleated pants ($385 ) would look amazing with just a plain white cotton t shirt and Lauren adores the drop waist feature in the checkered dropwaist dress ($445). Kate Spade’s Franny Coat ($545) is pricey but I adore the idea of wearing this with all black (i.e. my daily life uniform in nyc).
Forever21 has this adorable checked button down shirt in both mint (love) and black and white for $16. I mean, it’s at your own risk if you wash it once and then the arm falls off but still. Did you read that correctly? $16. Amazing. GET IT. They also have this adorable grid pattern sweater for the steeper price of $20…Topshop’s Grid Print Tunic Dress ($76) is absolutely adorable and I love the idea of this with opaque tights and some booties.
Valentine’s Day is not exactly our favorite PP holiday but I do love a holiday theme. Last year around this time I wrote a very similar post and this year seems to be even better. Valentine’s (single or taken) means lots of hearts to adorn yourself with on pretty much any other day besides the 14th. I own the JCrew heart print blouse (super similar factory version here) and it is worn any winter day to perk me up. I want this umbrella ASAP!!
Felix Rey Umbrella – $65 // Emi Jay Twistband Hair Ties – $6.50 // Tibi Heart Lace Sweatshirt – $145 // Rachel Antonoff Zooey Heart Dress – $400 // Deborah Lippmann My Heart Lacquer – $16 // Ariella Collection Heart Ring – $18 // Equipment Brett Heart Print Silk Blouse – $228 // Hanky Panky Heart Print Thong – $23 // Chinti and Parker Heart Intarsia Sweater – $545 // Williams Sonoma X’s and O’s Cookies – $23 // Aerin Heart Wine Stopper – $75 // Tibi Heart Easy Top – $265 // JCrew Factory Pleated Printed Skirt – $60 // Gap Heart Socks – $8
I bet you all thought I disappeared. You would be correct. Law school exams. Enough said. The pain, misery, and suffering is not over yet but I am at least a somewhat functional person at this point.
I took a brief study break today to do some online shopping for my upcoming holiday travel. I leave in five days, but who is really counting. I need a few outfits for my time in Florida & of course some festive wear for Christmas Eve & Day (my family now has a tradition of spending the holidays down south).
Of particular significance is the Red Cross Beach Beach Bash, sponsored by Lilly Pulitzer. I attend annually and it is debatably my favorite event of the year. It involves fun, colorful attire and a party by the ocean in warm Florida.
Today I happened upon this Tibi shift dress & fell in love immediately. I love sleeved dresses and I just adore the color – it is probably my most favorite color to wear & since I do not have a lavender dress, it is more justified. Tibi is also offering 20% off to new email subscribers (hint – use an alternate email dress to score the discount if you’re already on their subscription list).
To pair with this number, I wanted a unique, but subtle shoe. My first thought was something intricate, nude, and patent. I was unable to find this. But I did happen upon these killer Alexander Wang sandals on sale at Shopbop. The pale gray & yellow are perfectly neutral, but I love the modern cut with the bare foot & ankle strap. I have not committed to either purchase yet because they are both pricey items but I am pretty into this look for Dec. 29!
I would probably polish it off with a statement necklace or earrings & some sparkly arm candy… TBD!
If your inboxes are anything like ours, you have about 200 emails with a deal for cyber monday. It’s intense. Here are some ones to pay attention to. Unless noted, these deals end at midnight tonight.

BHLDN – 20% off everything. No code necessary.

One more reason? NYC sample sales.
