When the weather gets colder, sweaters seem to be the perfect solution. We all could use a cozy sweater and Vince is always my first spot to shop for them. They’re soft, fit perfectly and last forever. I love this Vince sweater. It’s just such a classic. The only bad part about Vince sweaters are the price so when I came across this Halogen option, I knew it was a must.

Today is a VERY special day. Why is that? Because Whitney and I are going to do some shopping, together, in New York City. I have no idea what this is going to bring but the plan is to definitely hit Bloomingdales. I am hoping to get some nice August sale deals and to begin browsing the fall lines.
The only sure thing I know I want for fall is loads of leather. If I am feeling brave, I would love to try a pair of leather leggings, such as this pair by Paige Denim:
I also love the idea of a leather dress – Vince makes some great ones, but I have not seen the perfect one just yet. Hoping for some major inspiration on our shopping adventure today!
I like this one but I think it is from last spring because it is nearly sold out everywhere. I will report back on today’s findings!

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has begun and a few things have caught my eye. I am shopping-rexic for July and August but that doesn’t mean I can’t look.
1. Look out for a Fall trend – LEATHER! Leather is huge and there are two items Nordstrom featured that are sleek, classic and everything a leather piece should be if you’re going to spend the money on one.

Shopbop’s sale lead me to another fantastic purchase that is taking me from day to play. The Equipment Brett shirt is a more fitted version of their standard silk blouse which looks a ton better with my body type. I like how it only has one pocket and the lines are leaner allowing me to wear this to work as well as tucked into my skinny jeans on weekends. The pale blue color is really sweet and goes so well with navy and black. I wore this under a suit one day and tucked into a pleated midi skirt a week later. Very versatile! Whitney and I made a startling discovery last night, we are both OBSESSED with Rachel Bilson’s new show, Hart of Dixie. This was a delayed discovery because we were both embarrassed to confess to our countdown to Monday nights to watch Rachel strut around in the best wardrobe on TV. That’s right, I enjoy her outfits MORE than those on Gossip Girl, because, well they are just more realistic! The show is about Dr. Zoe Hart (homegirl, Rachel), an NYC surgeon, who moves to Bluebelle, ALABAMA to get some experience in general practice after she is told she doesn’t quite have that whole bedside manner quality.
I enjoy the show because I can totally relate to the northern “fish outta water” in southern territory feeling (read: 4 years at Vanderbilt) & I think it is ABOUT TIME a TV show had a heroine who is smart, accomplished, and STILL well dressed and cool. Thank you, CW.
