C.Wonder Sample Sale

Yesterday I stopped by the first-ever C.Wonder sample sale and found some pretty great items at even better prices.  It was such a fun and colorful pop up store and based on the line, I wasn’t the only one who felt that way!  Clutches were $25, sweaters and knits (some from this season) were $25 – $50 and I scored an amazing quilted jacket (similar here) from last season for $75.  The home section was full of great stuff and if you had a small dog, you could pretty much dress them for the next year.  If you have time, stop by!

I must apologize to our NYC reader base as I’ve been away in Asia and have not been diligent in posting the sample sales currently going on (it is May, after all).  Last week was Rebecca Minkoff, Jimmy Choo AND Manolo and I’m sorry but I saved you all some casheesh.   Just one I wanted to share because I’m hoping one of you will go for me and buy me every pair of strappy flat sandals to make my summer complete.   Loeffler Randall’s spring sale details are below but get there early on Thursday and you’ll thank me.  Always great buys for one of Pretty Polished’s favorite brands.  Things like the above Starla sandal are $75 (were $175).

BaubleBar Pop Up Shopping

This Sunday, my bff Jen and I ventured out in the snowy cold weather to the BaubleBar Pop Up Shop in NYC.  Upon entering, you immediately get to pick up a free Bauble without spending a dime so really, it’s worth the visit.  The space is decorated in bright pinks and blues and there is quite a selection to go through.  I wound up getting some stretchy colorful bangles to stack as I couldn’t resist!

Our favorite part was the personalized section.  All of their personalized pieces (monogram necklaces, name bracelets/necklaces, acryllic everything) were out and the colors of all the different acrylics were fun to sort through.

Jen did some modeling with her new free Bauble (a nude leather disc with a sparkle line going down the middle) that she stacked with the round disc necklaces she already happened to be wearing.

Jen has really great and perfect hair so I just took this picture to show everyone how jealous I am (and have been since I was about 5).

Hanky Panky Sample Sale Round II Wrap Up

I’ll try not to make myself sound repetitive as I did one of these last year but it’s really hard for me to say no to a Hanky Panky Sample Sale.  Hankies for $10?  I think yes.  This year I recruited my fav colleague and we decided to hold a meeting on line at the sale since this is a popular one.  I bring you Jenn Chu, guest reporting for Pretty Polished at this year’s sale:

With sweaty palms, a heavy purse (holding my laptop and work files that I probably should have been working on), and the encouragement of Whitney Horner, I embarked on my first official sample sale in NYC at the Hanky Panky sale! The experience was overwhelming, with hundreds, if not thousands of thongs, panties, boy shorts and chemises, in every colour (editor’s note: she is Canadian) imaginable, splayed across the expansive pop up space at Chelsea Market. The most surprising aspect of the experience was the organizational efficiency of the layout and the staff – where else can you order a rainbow of panties off a giant menu board… and then receive your order in a neatly folded brown paper bag 15 minutes later?  Can I get fries with that next time!?

Special Day!

Today is a VERY special day.  Why is that?  Because Whitney and I are going to do some shopping, together, in New York City.  I have no idea what this is going to bring but the plan is to definitely hit Bloomingdales.  I am hoping to get some nice August sale deals and to begin browsing the fall lines.

The only sure thing I know I want for fall is loads of leather.  If I am feeling brave, I would love to try a pair of leather leggings, such as this pair by Paige Denim:

 

I also love the idea of a leather dress – Vince makes some great ones, but I have not seen the perfect one just yet.  Hoping for some major inspiration on our shopping adventure today!

 

I like this one but I think it is from last spring because it is nearly sold out everywhere.  I will report back on today’s findings!
